Bullet journaling

Bullet journaling is magic.

The general idea is to mash together all the written scraps needed for adulting into one adorable package. Grocery lists, calendars, diet trackers, mood trackers, to-do lists, holidays, addresses, you name it. It can be plain, or it can be highly decorated. I use Washi tape, stickers, stamps, patterned paper, markers and pens in mine. Amanda Rach Lee is an amazing artist if you want to check out some fantastic bullet journaling.

You do not know true peace until you have used Washi tape

One of the best parts about bullet journaling is that it is an extremely low-pressure opportunity to be creative. So you attempted an illustration of a cat and it turned out more like a potato...it's a grocery list, who cares?

Another aspect of bullet journaling that I love is that it gives me a positive incentive to look at my task list. There is still that teensy bit of dread at the never-ending-list-of-things-I'd-rather-avoid, but I do get the reward of marking items off in a satisfying way, with special pens or stamps.

And finally, it means a lot to me that it's an analog task. I needed to spend less time on screens long before COVID struck, but it's especially important now. Sometimes I feel like the lit screen can just drag your brain out right through your eyeballs.

Speaking of...I'd better go to bed. Well, let me know if you try out bullet journaling!

Take care and be kind,

- Renea
