Keeping things light is hard sometimes

     This will be short, and I'll do my best to keep it light...but sometimes that's really, really hard.

     It's no surprise that the justice system is broken in America. It's no surprise that how you're treated depends heavily on your race, gender, sexuality, and class. And so, of course, it is no surprise that a person like Trump, who while having lost at life in terms of intelligence, empathy, and capacity to feel love or happiness, can win his way in almost everything else.

    The fact is, Trump incited an insurrection and an assault on our Capitol and will likely face next to no consequences for it. That's not okay. It is just another flagrant display of the failure of our justice system to serve the good of the people. It's a system that causes one innocent human being to be shot and killed in her own apartment at night and allows another to walk free after murdering protestors. 

    Since I haven't been successful at keeping it light, I'll keep it short. Our justice system is broken. We need to rebuild from the ground up. I hope we can.
